Urban Supply Chains, Logistic Centres and Junctions

In this workshop we will examine the spatial configurations of logistics in and around Halle. In doing so the relationship between visible and invisible elements in urban supply chains and in logistic centres and junctions will also be explored. Where, for example, are the interfaces between the digital information flows often seen as immaterial, material infrastructure, transported goods and participating bodies? How are these interfaces designed? How are they experienced and appropriated? The workshop takes an in-depth look at the idea of logistics as an expanded living apparatus that in opposition to static concepts of infrastructure must be continually formed and re-evaluated. Not everyone profits equally from logistics. We are interested in questions regarding access and power dynamics embedded in spatial configurations. Who facilitates and who benefits from logistics? Who wins and who loses as a result of current spatial configurations of logistics in and around Halle?
