Telex technology has become an absolutely essential communications resource: airlines and weather services, the police, media and industrial operations maintain their own, in some cases worldwide networks. In a matter of seconds travel reservations are made, while electronic data coordinates production lines in automobile factories and facilitates order processing in chemical plants. Mit fünf Schritten shows the role that telex technology plays in communication and organization. The film commissioned by Siemens AG was made by the Munich-based Gesellschaft für Bildende Filme (GBF), a production company founded in 1950 by Otto Martini and Karl G’schrey that was known for the artistic quality of its scientific and industrial films.
