Glancing from a Tokyo street into a sushi restaurant: the shop display is an aquarium at the same time. Octopus are swimming in it. Outer space, aquarium and inner space merge into one visual layer. In quiet movements the fish circulate in the water whereas in the kitchen knifes are being sharpened…

The work is part of the project TRANSIT_TOKYO by Wieland Krause. In 2008 he has realised this part of his TRANSIT-projects which kept him moving  since 1998. In TRANSIT_TOKYO Krause occupies with interfaces between civilisation in metropoles and transitions between city centres, suburbs and natural landscape. His material collection comprises photo, video and sound, texts and found objests which are going to be manipulated and linked in the exhibition context. All those various materials are going to be installed in context with each other. In their future installation array they visualise one artistic form and the artist's approach. Mado will be screened at Videorama at once with Krause's exhibition TRANSIT_TOKYO in Volkspark Gallery and gallery Raum Hellrot in Halle (Saale).
