The world that Well Done portrays is like a futuristic machine: the inside of one of the largest Swiss service companies where the daily movement of money throughout the country is organized in the form of endless data streams. From the masses of employees a few individuals emerge: the Goldcard consultant, the product manager, the computer expert, the key account manager, the department manager, the director. Camera and microphone register their gestures, glances and speech patterns, the serial editing of which parses the office processes into their basic units. In this way viewers experience the subtle violence of electronic technologies that shape interpersonal communication and leave behind traces on employees’ personal lives.
